CROSSING THE ALPS
CONCESSION FOR TRUCKING CARS. Motorists who are planning trips across the Southern Alps from the eastern or western side nave the good news that the Railway Department has excellent facilities at Springfield and Otira for the trucking of motor-cars. Those who take advantage of the reasonable charges for the railing of their cars from Springfield to Otira, or viceversa, are granted a concession of 25 per cent on the return freight if the consignment is arranged within a calendar month of the date of the first conveyance. For one haul between the stations mentioned the railway charges range from £1 15/6. Motorists will be thoroughly pleased with the' carefree railway ride from Springfield to Otira. They will avoid the worry of the wheel on the most difficult and dangerous parts of the overland road, and will be charmed with the scenery which the cosy tram commands. . a ? '
