FATAL COLLISION
MOTORIST COMMITTED FOR TRIAL (Per United Press Association.) Hastings, June 13. Arising out of an accident on April 24 in which a cyclist, Bruce Summersby, was killed as the result of a collision with a car driven by John Sylvester Pender, the latter was committed for trial at the Supreme Court at Napier on a charge of recklessly driving a motor vehicle, thereby causing the death of Summersby. In the evidence it was stated that when deceased was riding with a companion, a car came towards them and an instant later Pender’s car came up behind them and struck deceased.
