MEAT EXPORTS
LONG-TERM POLICY.
AGREEMENT EXPECTED.
(United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Melbourne, June 13.
It is reported that an agreement on a long-term meat policy is expected momentarily between Australians and British Ministers in London. Cabled advice to this effect was received from Mr Lyons yesterday. A definite policy of Imperial preferences is stated to have been established. Important plans for the development of the chilled beef industry are soon to be announced by the Commonwealth Government. Dr Earle Page, the Act-ing-Prime Minister, envisages a complete change-over from frozen to chilled beef production, and two Government experts will travel through the pastoral areas and make a complete survey of the possibilities.
