WOMEN’S DIVISION
THORNBURY BRANCH. At’the June meeting of the Thombury branch of the W.D.F.U. Mrs J. Hamilton presided over a good attendance of members. Mrs A. Anderson presented the executive report. Mrs J. Hamilton reported on the placing in needy homes of garments donated for relief work by members and conveyed thanks from recipients. The secretary was instructed to send letters of congratulation to Mrs W. H. Ward (Lumsden) and Mrs C. Gray (Riverton) on their being awarded the King’s Jubilee Medal. The secretary reported that the plain and fancy dress ball had realized over £8 towards the funds. In the best bloom competition Mrs A. Anderson, Miss Simpson and Miss Hillis tied for first place. The roll call “A Story” was responsible for considerable hilarity.
