HOCKEY GUARANTORS.
To the Editor. Sir,—Your correspondent, "Only a Guarantor” is evidently a supporter of hockey, and this makes it the more regrettable that' he is labouring under a misapprehension. The Southland Men’s Hockey Association has not insured against bad weather, and consequently does stand to lose heavily in the event of the gate faUing below a certain fi'.ure. Apart worn one special supporter, guarantors outside actual hockey players and their immediate friends, are confined to fourteen gentlemen who have lodged £1 each. It may be of interest to "Only a Guarantor to know that arrangements have already been finalized for a suitable area in the stand to be roped off till 2.15 p.m., and that all who have assisted us m the matter of a guarantee will be able to purchase a double seat therein without further ado. In conclusion I may say that the Southland Men’s Hockey Association fully appreciates the help of “Only a Guarantor” and of all other friends who have made the visit of the AllIndia” team possible.—l am, etc., G. D. ANDERSON, Hon. Sec. [lt has been made clear to us that the arrangements for assuring seats for those who assisted in guaranteeing the amount needed to bring the Ail-India team to Invercargill had been finalized before “Only a Guarantor’s” letter appeared.—Ed.
