PUKERAU NOTES
(From Our Correspondent.) In view of her marriage to Mr R. Rogerson on Wednesday of this week, Miss Eva Sizemore was tendered a kitchen afternoon by district friends in the Pukerau Hall last Friday afternoon. Mrs W. Maslin presided and in asking the guest to accept the array of household articles, expressed the best wishes of all present for her future happiness and prosperity. On behalf of the Women’s Institute Mrs S. Kennedy (president) presented Miss Sizemore a crystal vase, and stated that it was pleasing to know that she was not leaving the district. The gifts and good wishes were gratefully acknowledged by the recipient. The play “Love in an Ape House” was read, those taking part being Mesdames Nixon, Gordon and Hoare. Two competitions were also held, the winners being Mrs S. Kennedy and Mrs R. Edwards. A solo was contributed by Mrs L. Millar, Mrs Nixon providing the accompaniment. Folk dancing was indulged in, and was followed by the serving of afternoon tea.
