AIR AND SHIP LINES. London, May 30. The principal British and Dutch shipping lines serving India, Ceylon, the Straits Settlements, China, Japan and Australia have arranged that from June 1 passengers will be allowed to travel to their destinations by steamer and return by air, or vice versa, on the adjustment of fares. Welcoming the interchange of marine and aerial travel. The Times, in a leading article, expects that it will have far-reaching results. Moreover, it indicates that British and Dutch shipping and air lines do not regard each other as rivals, but as a means of increasing the total volume of travel.
