SILVER IN AMERICA
PROPOSAL TO RAISE PRICE. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Washington, June 7. Senator McArran has called a meeting of the Senate silver bloc for Monday to press a proposal to raise silver to 129 cents an ounce and combat rumours abroad that the United States is about to abandon its purchase programme and also the unwarranted drop in the market price.
