Mataroa, —, February — GENERAL NOTESThe Waipiata ledves Auckland on’ Friday next for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. She is due here on the 20th and sails the same day for Dunedin. The Trojan Star is reported to have reached Avonmouth from London. The vessel is scheduled to leave England in ballast on June 18 for New Zealand, where she is due about July 28. The Golden Bear left San Francisco for Los Angeles a week ago to complete loading. From Los Angeles she will be dispatched for Auckland, Wellington, and Australian ports. She is due at Auckland about June 27 ,and should arrive at Wellington about July 1. The Shaw,' Savlll steamer, Coptic which left London on May 17, is due at Wellington on June 20. She will leave again on June 22 to discharge and load at Auckland, afterWard loading'at Gisborne, Napier, Wellington, Where she is due from July 9 to July 16, and Lyttelton. She will leave Lyttelton finally on July 20 for London, via Cape Horn and Las Palmas. NOTICE TO MARINERS. The Marine Department advises that a light is to be established at Baring head' in a position 162 deg 3.1 miles from Pencarrow Head high level light. Lat. 41deg 24.5 min. S., long. 174 deg 52.3 min E. (approximate). The light will be exhibited on the evening of Monday, the 17th inst. Character: Group occulting white having 3 eclipses every 15 seconds, thus: light 5 seconds, eclipse 2 seconds, light 2 seconds, eclipse 2 seconds, light 2 seconds, eclipse 2 seconds. Elevation, 286 feet. Visibility, 23 miles. Structure: 'White concrete tower, 40 feet. Arc of visibility: From 305 deg through north to 152 deg. The fixed white light on Pencarrow Head, in position, Lat 41deg 21.5m.in S., long. 174 deg 51.1 min S. (approx), will be discontinued on the 17th inst. The tower, which will be useful at times as a day mark, will not be dismantled. The fog signal will continue to operate at Pencarrow. WITHIN WIRELESS RANGE.
