KING’S BIRTHDAY
BRILLIANT PAGEANT. TROOPING THE COLOUR. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 11.50 p.m.) London, June 3. The King, who celebrated his seventieth birthday to-day, was present at the ceremony of trooping the Colour which was carried out with customary stateliness and precision in brilliant sunshine. His Majesty headed a procession from Buckingham Palace to the Horse Guards Parade accompanied by all his sons. The Duke of Kent, who being a naval officer, had hitherto not participated in the ceremony, made his first appearance as Colonel of the West Kent Regiment. MR ROOSEVELTS GREETINGS. Mr Roosevelt cabled to King George as follows: “This year affords me special pleasure in extending to your Majesty cordial birthday greetings of friendship and goodwill.
