WOMAN FINED
BOOKMAKING CHARGES.
(Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, June 4.
Kathleen Nora Poulsen, aged 32 years, a storekeeper in Brougham street, was fined £2O and costs by the Magistrate, Mr E. C. Lewey, on a charge of using her shop as a common gaming house! ■ The police said that there had been numerous complaints. Six bets had been made with her by constables and later, detectives searched the premises where betting slips were found. Presumably she was an agent.
