AIR SERVICES
NORTH AUCKLAND ROUTE. PARTIES TO CONFER. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, June 4. The Transport Co-ordination Board learned to-day that there were three firms interested in the proposed air services over the North Auckland route. Evidence was given that Falcon Airways, Ltd., proposed a service twice daily between Auckland and Whangarei. This would connect at Auckland with the Auckland-Dunedin service. Another proposed sendee in which Messrs Spence, Mason and F. B. Cadman are interested, is a proposed service embracing Kaikohe, Whangarei, Auckland, Hamilton, Te Kuiti and New Plymouth, with a branch through the Bay of Plenty. On behalf of New Zealand Airways, Ltd., Mr H. M. McKay said that the company was prepared to go on with the service between Gisborne and Auckland. He was prepared to confer with Falcon Airways, provided his company’s application for the Auck-land-Gisborne service was finalized at the board’s next meeting in WellingThe chairman, Sir Stephen Allen, adjourned the proceedings and advised the parties to confer.
