CRICKETER SENTENCED.

The cricketer V. W. C. Jupp was sentenced to nine months’ imprisonment for manslaughter and was disqualified from driving for two years. The Judge said Jupp had been a motorist of good character for 28 years, but the public must be proteetd from the consequences of mad driving. Jupp, in evidence, said that he got into a skid and lost control of his car.
