MEETING HELD. The meeting of the Land Board was held on Thursday. Present: The Commissioner of Crown Lands (Mr B. C. McCabe) in the chair, and Messrs E. K. Sim, Thomas Hamilton, L. A. Niederer and J. C. Paterson. Application For Land. Section 8 Blk. X. Campbelltown Hd., 820 ac. 3r. .COp. Renewable lease. Robert Forrest Marshall.—Approved. Correspondence. Consideration of the question of granting a right to R. Fitzgerald over part of riverbed opposite Sec. 22 Blk. VIII., Wyndham S.D.—Declined. Consideration of the question of granting a temporary right to Mary A. Scobie over Sec. 370 Blk. XXXIV., Taringatura S.D., comprising 33ac. 2r. lip. —Resolved that temporary right be granted pending the offering of the land.

Consideration of the application of F. G. Walker for camp site at Cascade Creek.—No action.

Robert McDonald applied for a grazing right over Sec. 36, 18, 19, 20 and 23, Block XXI., and Sections 26/31, Block XX., Jacob’s River Hd., 36 acres. —Held over for one month.

Harry Bennett applied to select Sec. 15, Blk. VII., Otara S.D., comprising 46 acres. —Application declined. Recommended for approval of the Hon. Minister of Lands that section be offered at a capital value of £5O. Consideration of application of Frank Harrison for a permanent lease over Sec. 15, Blk. XIII., Waiau S.D., comprising 2ac. Ir. .00p.—Resolved to recommend that the reservation for scenery purposes be revoked. - The board was asked to consider the question of reoffering for selection Sec. 65, Blk. IX., Campbelltown Hd., comprising 521 ac. .Or. ,36p.—Resolved that section be not offered in the meantime. Daniel Ogilvie applied in terms of Sec. 195, Sub-section 2 of the Land Act 1924 for a renewable lease of Secs. 35 and 36, Blk. TV., Mabel Hd., comprising 21ac. 2r. ,00p.—Resolved that renewable lease be granted at a capital value of £7O. D. T. King applied for the flaxcutting rights over an area of the foreshore from Main Papatotara Road to Hut Creek in the Alton S.D.—Resolved that permission be granted. Representatives of J. H. Elder requested that temporary right granted over 1J acres of Sec. 30, Blk. IV., Oteramika Hd. be cancelled.—Resolved that resolution of December 6, 1934, granting a temporary right be rescinded. W. Pullar requested that his grazing right over Secs. 58R, Blk. XVII., and Sec. 58, Blk., XVIII., Jacob’s River, be cancelled as from February, 1934, when he ceased to use it. —Resolved that right be cancelled as from 16/2/34. The board was requested to approve of the registration of the transfer of Runs 190 A and 302 A, Eyre S.D., 7200 acres, from George Alexander Hamilton and W. Charters to Mary Catherine Hamilton and Merdina Florence Charters.—Approved. The . Southland County Council submitted schedule of proposed expenditure of “thirds” which have accrued for the period ending October 31, 1934, and amounting to £2B 1/-.—Approved. Executors of Mrs M. A. Brookes requested cancellation of grazing license over Pt. Sec. 22, Blk. VII., Waikawa S.D., and granting of a year to year right to C. E. Brookes. —License cancelled as from 31/12/34. J. D. and M. D. Brick applied for a temporary right over Sec. 12A., Blk. 1., Aparima Hd., comprising 3ac. 2r. 14p — Resolved that temporary right be granted. In addition, 32 cases were dealt with in committee.
