GORE A. & P. ASSOCIATION.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE.

The monthly meeting of the committee of the Gore Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held on Saturday when Mr H. P. Mclntyre presided m the absence of the president (Mr W. Y. Dickie). There were also present Messrs Henry Smith, J. A. Edwards, W. G. Ladbrook, R. H. Gardyne, T. Fleming, J. L. Elder, J. Logan, A. J. Cameron, R. K. Dodds, P. Keir, G. Smith, J. E. White, J. Bruce, A. Dickson. Votes of sympathy were passed to the relatives of the late Miss Logan and Mr James Scott. A letter was received from Mr Walter M. Beshell, of Blenheim, an exhibitor at the last show, expressing thanks for the hospitality extended to him and the attention to his sheep during his visit to Gore.

Mr D. Baird (knapdale), wrote stating that he had been injured and had incurred medical expenses through being knocked down by a run-away horse which had been out of control during the ring events. He claimed that the association had been negligent in not closing the entrance to the ring. The letter was referred to a subcommittee to deal with.

It was decided to confer with the Stock Agents’ Association to decide on the dates for the ram fair, as the date originally selected would clash with the Canterbury fair.
