NAPIER TO GISBORNE. STAFF APPOINTMENTS. (Per United Press Association.) Gisborne, January 25. At a meeting of directors of East Coast Airways, Ltd., to-night, the following appointments were made: Squadron-Leader T. M. White, formerly of Hawkes Bay and now of . Sydney, chief pilot. Flying-Officer Kirkup, instructor of the Canterbury Aero Club, assistant pilot. Mr L. Mangham, of Palmerston North, ground engineer. Over 30 applications from England, Canada, Australia and New Zealand were received for the pilots’ positions, and 40 applications for that of ground engineer. The service will be run twice daily between Gisborne and Napier. Two standard 10-seater two-engined de Havilland liners have been ordered front England and are expected.to land here by April 1, and the service will be started immediately. ' •
