A scheme for adjusting the supply tonnage to the demand has been drafted at the preliminary conference of the International Shipping Conference which has been meeting m Lonwas announced in a long communique issued which gives a survey of the problems, but does not give details of the proposed scheme which will be submitted to the Shipowners Associations in different countries who will examine it with a view to further consideration by a full meeting of the conference, if necessary alter a further preliminary meeting. It is understood, however, that the scheme follows the broad line of rationalization plan for oil tankers which was introduced last May. -
