RELIEF WORKERS

ALLOWANCE INCREASED IN NEW SOUTH WALES. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Sydney, January 23. The Premier, Mr B. S. Stevens, announced in the Assembly that the Government proposed to increase the allowances to relief workers. Details had not yet been completed. The Chief Secretary, Mr Chaffey, stated that the Government had set aside £90,000 for expenditure on boots and clothing for the unemployed.
