PROTECTING WHALES
CONVENTION RATIFIED.
(United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Geneva, January 22. Nineteen countries ratified the Convention protecting the whale, particularly the rarer species. It applies to all waters of the world and absolutely prohibits the killing and taking of calves or females accompanied by suckling whales, and also regulates the chartering and registration of whaling ships.
