OHAI NOTES

TWENTY-FIRST ’ BIRTHDAY PARTY. (From Our Correspondent.) Mr and Mrs J. Thompson, Ohai, recently entertained a number of young folk at a dance in honour of their daughter, Sylvia. At a suitable enterval Mr W. Welsh, sen., presented Miss Thompson with a key, and wished her every success. Miss Thompson suitably replied and cut the cake which was decorated with 21 kevrpies. Winners of the Monte Carlo waltz were Miss M. Welsh and Mr A. McKenzie. The Lucky Spot waltz was won by Miss M. McKay and Mr W. Welsh (jun.) During the evening Mr A. McKenzie sang, and Mr J. Brown danced the Sailor’s Hornpipe. Music was supplied by Messrs Heller, Luke, Stephenson, Smith, Reinhamner and Dixon. Mr J. Homer and Mr H. Ferguson were M.C.’s. Those present were: Mr and Mrs J.
