The Globe wireless station intercepted an S.O.S. from the Japanese freighter, Hokuman Maru, with 35 men on board, bound from Vancouver to Osaka (Japan). The vessel has a starboard list of 17 degrees and she is taking in water several hundred miles west of Cape Flattery. The Kasku Maru is proceeding to her aid and also the United States Coastguard Cutter Chelan from Port Angeles' (Washington).
