OBITUARY

MISS AGNES LOGAN.

The death occurred on Sunday at Otama of Miss Agnes Logan. The deceased lady was born at Overton, Ayrshire, Scotland, 62 years ago. She received her education at the Coylton School, and came to New Zealand in 1901. Miss Logan has since resided at Otama. During her 34 years’ residence, Miss Logan took a keen interest in district affairs. The deceased was also an ardent member of the Otama Presbyterian Church and a supporter of its activities. She was also a member of the P.W.M.U. and the Otama Women’s Institute and for almost 20 years a keen supporter of the Gore A. and P. Association.

MR JOHN ROBB.

Auckland, January 21. The death has occurred of Mr John Robb, aged 80, one of the pioneers of the timber trade in Auckland. From 1901 to 1923 he was general manager of the Kauri Timber Company, and since 1923 chairman of the local board.

SIR ARTHUR MAXWELL.

(United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) London, January 20. The death is announced of Colonel Sir Arthur Maxwell.

Sir Arthur Maxwell was a director for numerous shipping lines and other enterprises, and was managing partner of Glyn, Mills and Co., bankers. He served in the European War with distinction, being mentioned in despatches five times. He was born in Belfast sixty years ago.
