INMATES.
(United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 6.45 p.m.) London, January 20. There were exciting scenes at a fire in the City of London Institution, Bow Road, where 200 aged bedridden men and women, some of whom were blind, were hurriedly wrapped in blankets and carried out. Sixty nurses were available for rescue work and placed the patients in wheeled chairs or wheeled them out on the beds themselves to safety. Meanwhile 200 men and 20 engines were working on the burning block. They put out the fire in two hours.
