AERIAL DEFENCE
FURTHER DEVELOPMENT. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, November 13. Coincident with the Government’s plans for laying out- emergency landing grounds for aeroplanes in both Islands is a scheme for further development of the two principal aerodromes, Wigram, Christchurch, and Hobsonville, Auckland. The Minister of Defence, the Hoh. J. G. Cobbe said to-night that a tender had been let for the construction. of 10 six-roomed cottages at Hobsonville Base for married airmen.
The work of constructing the new hangar at Wigram will be commenced immediately. The building has been designed to house mainly the . Vildebeeste bombing planes to arrive in New Zealand in February.
