MODERN SURGERY
ASTONISHING OPERATIONS.
(United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) London, November 12.
A series of astonishing operations based on the work of Egyptian doctors two thousand years ago has been accomplished at the Waterloo Hospital for Children. The operations consist of the removal of part or whole of a child’s lung when the patient is suffering from either cancer or bronchiectasis. Egyptian surgeons derived considerable knowledge of pulmonary operations through experiments on condemned criminals and Celus’s records of Egyptian practice are now applied to modem surgery.
