SAMOAN BANANAS

EXPORT QUOTA INCREASED.

SATISFACTION AMONG PLANTERS.

(United Press Assn—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 7 p.m.) Apia, November 7. The Administrator announced at a meeting of the Legislative Council that the Samoan banana quota was being increased, commencing in January next, to 3000 cases during the months from May to September and 4000 cases in other months. Union Company steamers would handle the increase. The announcement was received with great satisfaction by planters. Production is now considerably in excess of the present quota. The additional cash distributed will help to stimulate the retail trade, which at present is stagnant.
