WOMEN’S DIVISION

FAIRFAX BRANCH.

(From Our Correspondent.)

The monthly meeting of the Fairfax branch of the W.D.F.U. was held in the Fairfax Hall on Tuesday, Mrs Mitchell (president) presiding over a full attendance of members and a number of visitors.

After the usual business was completed, Nurse Allen, of Riverton, gave an interesting and instructive address on the Plunket system of rearing babies. All the mothers of the district had been brought to the meeting with their babies, and an enjoyable afternoon was spent by members and visitors alike. Thanks were conveyed to Nurse Allen for her helpful address, and also to all those who assisted to convey the mothers and babies to and from the hall.

The roll call for the day, “Washing Hints,” was well responded to, and the competition for the best bloom was won by Mrs Meek, with Miss Helm second. After the afternoon tea adjournment the babies were photographed.
