ENGLISH TEAM AT ROTORUA.

HUGHES AGAIN BEATS PERRY. (Per United Press Association.) Rotorua, November 7. The visiting English tennis players played an exhibition match at Rotorua to-day, but unfortunately part of the programme had to be abandoned owing to rain. In two straight sets G. P. Hughes beat F. J. Perry 7—5, 6—3, after an exhibition in which Hughes appeared to be on top form, but Perry was patchy, neither backhand nor forehand being entirely reliable, and Hughes won on his mistakes.

In the ladies’ doubles match, _ Miss Dorothy Round, playing with Mis:. N. Beaverley (Matamata) was beaten by Misses Dearman and Lyle, 6—2, 7—5. The team left this evening for Wellington, and is crossing to Christchurch on Thursday nisht.
