PARTY TRUCE URGED TEMPORARY RESPITE FOR GOVERNMENT RADICALS’ ATTITUDE (United Press Assn—Telegraph Copyright.) Paris, November 6. The Government has been momentarily saved owing to a conciliatory termination of a meeting of Radicals, who passed a resolution in favour of keeping the party truce and urging the Prime Minister, M. Doumergue, to accept the Budget vote without delay instead of demanding credits which amount to £181,580,000 for three months from January 1 to March 31. The Radicals entrusted M. Herriot with the duty of presenting the demands to’M. Doumergue, who may not accept the compromise. M. Flandin and other Centre g rou P s and Republicans of the Left support M. Doumergue, who, nevertheless, if all the Radicals are hostile, will be defeated in the Chamber by 350 votes to 250. FATE OF GOVERNMENT RESIGNATION EXPECTED TO-DAY. (United Press Assn—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) London, November 7. The Paris correspondent of the British United Press says that while a decision concerning the Governments fate has been postponed till Thursaay owing to the Radical Socialists’ continuation of the “truce” and instructions to tfie party representatives to remain in the Cabinet, the threat to the Government remains. Those wellformed believe that the Government will resign on Thursday. It is authoritatively stated, however, that the principle of a Coalition Government will remain. France will not divide and will not change her foreign policy during the present troublous period, irrespective of the fate of the present Cabinet. „ “I shall he at my post to-morrow, said the veteran Prime _ Minister, M. Doumergue, as he left his office leaning on the arm of his wife, who bitterly commented on the Radical Socialists’ desertion of my husband. They have not been just to him,” she said, “but he will go out gloriously. If he had listened to me he would still be in the country taking care of himselt, not tiring himself out as he has been doing for a long time.” PRECAUTIONS TAKEN ARMED GUARDS IN PARIS. (United Press Assn. —Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 7.0 p.m.) London, November 7. The Paris correspondent of the NewsChronicle states that the city is packed with armed guards. Marines have also arrived from the naval bases.
