SUSPECTED PERSONS

STATEMENTS TO POLICE. GRAND JURY’S RECOMMENDATION. (Per United Press Association.) Wanganui, November 5. The Grand Jury, in returning a true bill against Michael Ansely of alleged indecent assaults on females, added a rider that when any statements are being taken from a suspected person or persons, they should have the definite right of a solicitor or other adviser prior to such statements being obtained. Mr Justice Smith said he would forward the rider to the proper quarters. It was very satisfactory to know that the Grand Jury was taking a very definite interest in the administration of justice.
