GERMAN PROTESTANTS
“REBEL” BISHOPS ACCLAIMED.
ENTHUSIASTIC SERVICES.
(United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Nuremberg, November 4.
In defiance of Dr. Streicher’s prohibition, tens of thousands of Protestants from all parts of Bavaria welcomed Bishop Meiser who spoke in St. Lawrence’s Church, followed by Pastor Jacoby, head of the Emergency League. Thereafter the crowd swept through the police who surrounded Bishop Meiser’s car and cheered him to the echo.
Four thousand people crowded the principal churches to hear Bishop Wurm for the first time since his release. The service was relayed, to an enthusiastic overflow meeting.
