ATTACK BY OPPERMAN. LAND’S END TO JOHN O’ GROATS. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) London, July 16. Hubert Opperman, the crack Australian cyclist, is attempting to break the cycling record from Land’s End to John o’ Groats. He left Land’s End at 7 a.m., reached Worcester at 8.40 p.m. and covered 225 of the 866 miles in 12 hours. He is maintaining an astounding speed and a 24 hours world’s record is assured, barring accidents.
