Mrs A. A. Scott, of Timaru, is the guest of Mr and Mrs F. D. Scott, Eccles street. Mr and Mrs A. J. Hawke, Denton street, spent the Easter holidays at Invercargill. Mr and Mrs H. Oswin, Rock street, returned last Wednesday from Riverton, where they spent Easter. Mr and Mrs H. Frank, Dunedin, are at present visiting Gore and are guests at the Carrington Hotel. Mrs J. Kirkpatrick, Anzac street, spent Easter with her mother, Mrs E. M. Raines, Winton. Mr and Mrs J. Hunter, Main street, have returned from their motor trip to Timaru. WEDDING. KELLY—CONNOLLY. A pretty wedding was solemnized on Tuesday, April 3, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Temuka, when Agnes Eileen, only daughter of Mr and Mrs S. Connolly, Lower Seadown, was married to Thomas Mulvey, second son of Mr and Mrs Nicholas Kelly, “Okaoua,” North Chatton. The Rev. Father ( Outtrim performed the ceremony and / Miss Coughlan played the wedding music. The church was beautifully decorated for the occasion with pink dahlias and cream gladioli. The bride, j who entered the church with her : father, wore a cream crepe satin gown, ight-fitting to the knees and then : flared to form a short train. The bodice ; was made with tight-fitting sleeves ■ and a three-tiered cape collar embroid- 1 ■red with seed pearls. A swathe of satin . at the waist was finished with a large 1 cow at the back. The bridesmaid, Miss Betty Quinn (Makikihi) wore a frock of shell-pink georgette, made in princess style with gored skirt. Tire sleeves were tight-fitting to the elbow and gathered with tiny frills to the wrist. She wore a picture hat of soft, palepink straw, trimmed with pink velvet, and carried a bouquet of pale pink and mauve sweetpeas. Mr Gerard Kelly (Gore), attended his brother as best man.

A reception, was held at the bride’s home, where a large marquee had been erected on the lawn. Decorations were carried out with Chinese lanterns and greenery, and the tables were decorated with golden gem nasturtiums. Mrs Connolly received her guests, wearing a frock of navy satin beaute, navy felt hat to tone, and carried a bouquet of crimson dahlias and maidenhair fern. Mrs Kelly, the bridegroom’s mother, wore a cinnamon brown, krinkle crepe ensemble, trimmed with grey lemon and tomato red of the same material. She wore a brown felt hat and carried a bouquet of bronze-coloured dahlias. When Mr and Mrs Kelly left later for the north, the bride travelled in a brown flecked costume, small brown fur felt hat to tone, and carried a stone morten fur stole. On their return, Mr and Mrs Kelly will take up residence at North Chatton.
