CENTENARIAN DIES
MR J. A. CRAWFORD. VETERAN MINER. (Per United Press Association.) Dunedin, April 7. The death occurred at Naseby on Saturday of Mr James Archer Crawford, at the ag£ of 104 years. He was a veteran of the Crimean War, during which he met the famous nurse, Florence Nightingale, and after this he followed the occupation of a miner in Australia and New Zealand. He came to Otago in 1861 and for 58 years he had lived at Naseby with his wife, by whom he is survived.
