EASTER MEETING. Fine weather gave the feminine enthusiasts every opportunity of looking their best at the Riverton Racing Club’s Easter meeting. Smart coats and skirts were to the fore while three-piece suits and coat frocks were popular. Hals were small and decidedly tilted and skin shoes matched skin handbags. Miss May O’Byrne, Dalrymple Road, has returned from Stewart Island.

Mrs T. Menzies Watson, Morven, and her children are at present visiting town.

Misses Lang and Sherrills spent the Easter holidays at Lochiel as the guests of Mrs Munro.

Mrs E. Prentice and Miss Doris Prentice left by the express on Wednesday to take up residence in Wellington. Miss H. Buckham returned to Christchurch last Wednesday having been the guest of Mrs A. B. Moffett, Albert street.

Mrs T. M. Rankin, Yarrow street, leaves to-day to be the guest of her daughter, Mrs R. E. Bennetts, Roxburgh.

Mrs C. Patterson, Yarrow street, accompanied by her children, spent the Easter holidays with her parents at Long Bush. Mrs S. A. Stevens, Clyde, Central Otago, and Miss Hazel Darnill, Winton, are the guests of Mrs F. W. McGill, Filleul street. Misses Sheila and Tui Rankin returned on Tuesday from Roxburgh, where they have been the guests of Mrs R. E. Bennetts. Mrs F. W. McGill and Miss Olive McGill, who left last week on a motoring tour through Central Otago, have returned home. Miss Ruth Phillips of Dunedin, who was the guest of Mrs C. B. Snow, Yarrow street, for the Easter holidays, has returned to Dunedin. Misses Florence Hay, and Molly and Gwen Cartwright, Waianiwa were the guests of Mrs William Hay, Fairfax, during the Easter holidays. Mrs McGradie, Maheno, was a guest at the Service-McGradie wedding during the week and was staying with her sister Mrs Blair, Georgetown. Mrs E. Prentice and Miss Doris Prentice, accompanied by Miss Thelma Barr were the guests of Mrs H. Jordan, Stewart Island, for Easter. Miss Lumsden, Conon street, accompanied by her niece, Miss Effie Lumsden, leaves by Sunday night’s train for Tauranga where they will spend the winter.

Miss Lottie McGradie, “Morven” South Canterbury, came down for her sister’s wedding and was the guest of her aunt Mrs H. Robertson, Mabel Bush.

Mr and Mrs I. Macfarlane, Miss Macfarlane and Messrs Frank Macfarlane and Hugh Stevely of Dunedin, were the guests of Mr and Mrs Andrew Noble at their “Rocks” house for the Easter holidays.
