Mr and Mrs A. i I. Owen returned to Christchurch last Wednesday. Mr and Mrs F. M. MacDonald, Gala street, spent Easter in Dunedin. Mrs C. S. Longuet, Gala street, is spending a holiday in Wellington. Miss Ellen Oliver, Holywood Terrace, returned from Dunedin on Tuesday. Major and Mrs H. D. McHugh and family returned from the Eglinton Valley last Monday. Mr and Mrs J. M. Adam, Dunedin, were the guests of Miss L. Birss, Dalrymple Road, during Easter. Miss Margaret Anderson, Dunedin, was the guest of Mrs I. D. Jack, Alice street, for the Easter holidays. Mr and Mrs A. C. Ford and family, Ettrick street, spent the Easter holidays at The Rocks, Riverton. Mr and Mrs W. R. J. Smythe, Baird street, have returned from Kaka Point where they spent the Easter holidays. Mr and Mrs W. N. Bond and Miss Mary Bond, Dunrobin, who have been visiting Timaru, have returned home. Mrs G. H. Uttley, The Rectory, Crinan street, has returned home after spending the Easter week-end in Dunedin. Mr and Mrs A. M. Macdonald accompanied by Miss Berys Macdonald, returned from the Eglinton Valley last Monday. Mrs W. M. L. Sutherland and her little daughters, Lewis street, left by car on Monday to spend a fortnight in Dunedin. Mrs G. T. Mathieson, Heddon Bush, spent last week with her parents, Mr and Mrs H. H. Twemlow, “Arclyd,” Waikiwi. Mr and Mrs A. E. H. Bath and family returned from Dunedin last Tuesday, where they had been spending the Easter holidays. Mrs F. Berndston, of Christchurch, who has been the guest of her sister, Mrs Eustace Russell, Herbert street, returned home on Thursday. Mrs H. W. Royds and Miss Marian Royds, Alice street, who have been visiting Christchurch, Timaru and Dunedin, returned home yesterday afternoon. Miss Renee Ward has returned from Dunedin, having completed a special course in operatic and soft shoe dancing under the tutelage of Mr Stan Lawson. Mrs Edward Nicoll, Christchurch, and Mrs J. B. Nicoll, Ashburton, who have been the Quests of Mrs W. E. Hazlett, Filleul street, returned to the north on Thursday. Mr and Mrs C. C. Mannings and family, Pomona Road, returned on Tuesday from The Rocks, Riverton, where they were the guests of Mr and Mrs A. C. Ford. Mr and Mrs Edwyn Wilding, “Wilanda Downs,” arrived in Wellington last Tuesday after spending a holiday in Australia. They returned to the south later in the week. Misses Bertha and Jessie Forbes, and Mr Robert Forbes, Cheviot, daughters and son of the Prime Minister, will leave on April 20 on a visit to Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. Mr and Mrs J. G. Young came down from Dunedin on Monday to be the guests of Mrs I. D. Jack, Alice street, for the Perrelle—Melton wedding which takes place at Winton next Tuesday. Miss Batchelor, of Dunedin, spent the Easter holidays with Mrs C. J. Brodrick, Wellesley. She left on Tuesday for the north where she will stay with relatives before leaving for England in July. Mrs W. E. Edmond and Mr F. Edmond, “Mount Lodge,” Dunedin, have returned to Waikouaiti from Wellington, where they met Miss Bridget Leatham who was a passenger by the Akaroa from England. Mrs F. D. Morrah, Grey street, who was the guest of her sister, Mrs Reg. Sise, Dunedin, has left for the north to meet her daughter, Mrs Kingston, of London (nee Miss Elsie Morrah) who is paying a visit to New Zealand. Mrs O. Howard Goodwin, of Birmingham, after an absence of ten years in South Africa and England, is at present on a visit to her mother, Mrs Boyce, Crinan street. She is accompanied by her younger son.

Mr and Mrs A. Mitchell, of the Club Hotel, are spending a holiday in Dunedin.

Mr and Mrs D. Kil kelly, Chelmsford street, and their small son are spending a holiday in Christchurch. Miss Nancy Nicholson, Herbert street, who is spending a holiday in Dunedin, expects to return during the week-end. Mrs L. H. Leary, Dunedin, has arrived at Bluff to spend a holiday with Mr and Mrs C. Rapsey, Theodore street.

Mr and Mrs M. E. Wiig and Miss Inga Wiig returned to Bluff on Wednesday after spending Easter at Stewart Island.

Mrs George Maltby and her two wee sons returned home during the week after spending a month’s holiday in Central Otago.

Miss Dundas, Dalrymple road, who has been the guest of Mrs Murray Menzies, “The Knoll,” Dipton, returned to town on Tuesday. Mrs Guy Reece, who has been staying in Christchurch with her mother, Mrs R. Pinckney, returned to the south by last night’s express. Mrs G. Corbet, Tweed street, who has been visiting Mrs I. Jones, Christchurch, and Mrs W. B. W. Bell, Ashburton, returned to Invercargill last week.

Mrs J. H. Crawshaw, St. Clair, Dunedin, leaves to-day for Napier, where she will be the guest of her daughter, Mrs H. Thwigg. Mrs Crawshaw and Miss Norah Crawshaw will sail fol’ England next month.
