N.Z. RESERVE BANK
THE FIRST GOVERNOR. A DISTINGUISHED CAREER. (United Press Assn—Telegraph Copyright.) London, January 8. The financial editor of the Daily Telegraph says that Mr Leslie Le Feaux (who is "reported to have been appointed Governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand) has had a distinguished banking career at the Bank of England where his loss will be severely felt. Until recently he was deputy chief cashier, but since the beginning of 1933 he has occupied a special post as assistant to the Governor in which he was free to devote himself to a series of important banking developments as, and when, they arose. He will thus carry to his important post a full measure of experience from the fountain head'of central banking. The New Zealand institution could hardly start under better auspices.
