TROOPER’S PLEA

UNSUITED FOR THE ARMY. A plea that he was temperamentally unsuited for the life of the Army was put forward by Trooper Reginald Jack Davies, aged 25, of the 7th Hussars, who was sentenced at an Aidershot court-martial the other day to 112 days’ detention for desertion. It was stated at the trial that he had been away from the Army for five years, and then surrendered. He said that he was driven to join the Army because there were so many of his family at home. He added that on enlisting he found that he was temperamentally unsuited for the life.
