OBITUARY
MRS H. NILSON.
(From Our Correspondent). Residents of Halfmoon Bay were shocked on Friday when word was received that Mrs Nilson, wife of Mr H. Nilson of the Neck, had died suddenly about mid-day. During the morning Mrs Nilson appeared to be in her usual health and shortly after mid-day she left the family at lunch and went to attend to some duties in another part of the house. Later when Mr Nilson went to look for his wife he found her lying on the ground. An inquest was held on Saturday, Mr R. C. Hicks acting as Deputy Coroner. Associated with him were Nurse Peters, Constable Shannon and a jury of four. A verdict of “death due to heart failure” was returned. Funeral.
The funeral of the late Mrs Nilson was held at the Neck in a private cemetery on Sunday afternoon. There was a very large and representative gathering of residents and visitors, which required some 14 launches for transport from Halfmoon Bay The service was conducted by Archdeacon Lush, of Invercargill and the Rev. J. N. Goodman, Vicar of St. Andrews Church.
