VISITORS AT AUCKLAND. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, January 8. The arrivals by the Aorangi from Sydney to-day included Captain C. C. N. Wallick, a former announcer of 2LO London. In 1923 he became director of programmes and he was frequently heard announcing until 1926 when he went to India and inaugurated the Indian Broadcasting Commission there. He and his wife are on a world tour.
Mr E. McPhail, formerly of the Bank of New Zealand inspectorate, also returned by the Aorangi after a year abroad.
Mr G. N. Magilt, a prominent New South Wales grazier, said on his arrival by the Aorangi that wool prices will go higher before the sales are finished this season. “Prices will again be good next year, but not quite as high as they will finish this year,. but we do not want wool to be too high because the higher it goes the. higher it will fall. If the present prices are maintained there will be only a slight drop next year.”
