PINNED UNDER CAR
TAXI DRIVER’S DEATH.
(Per United Press Association.)
Masterton, January 8.
Joshua Teasdale, a middle-aged Masterton taxi proprietor, was fatally injured at about 7.30 to-night when his car crashed over a bank on Te Whiti Road about seven miles from Masterton.
Deceased was returning to town alone after dropping some passengers and, when the car, a heavy sedan, left the road, he was thrown out and pinned under the vehicle. Death was probably instantaneous, Mr Teasdale being badly crushed about the body. Considerable difficulty was experienced in extricating the body from under the car. Deceased was a married man and well-known throughout the district.
