Miss Constance Golding, Dunedin, and formerly of Gore, is the guest of Mrs S. Paterson, Albany street. Mr and Mrs F. D. Scott and children, Eccles street, are spending a holiday in Timaru. Mr and Mrs C. R. Green and Miss Diana Green, Joseph street, returned last Thursday evening from a visit to Timaru. Mr and Mrs H. C. Mac Gibbon, and their two children, returned last week from a visit to Orawia, where they were the guests of Mr and Mrs W. Mac Gibbon.

Mr and Mrs T. L. Piller, and Miss Noeline Piller, Garnet street, are visiting Christchurch. Mrs and Miss Anderson, Gisborne, and formerly of Gore, are the guests of Mrs J. J. Gresham, William street. Mr and Mrs H. R. Robertson and Miss Heather Robertson, Ardwick street, left on Friday last on a holiday visit to Queenstown. Mr A. L. Dolamore and Miss Cicile Dolamore, Albany street, have returned from Queenstown. Mrs J. A. Edwards, Otikerama, : s on a short visit to Dunedin.

Miss J. Ross, Matron of the Southland Hospital, who has just returned from a trip to the Old Country, spent the week-end in Gore, on her way to Invercargill. The Misses Joyce and Aline Harvey, Halton street, East Gore, leave this week to spend a holiday at Queenstown. Mr and Mrs A. B. Caverhill, Ashton street, leave to-day on a holiday visit to Queenstown. Dr. and Mrs J. M. Watters and children returned on Saturday from their holiday spent at The Rocks, Riverton. Mr and Mrs Ibbetson and their son Selwyn, who have been spending a holiday camping with Mr and Mrs J. Hunter, of Main street, returned to Dunedin during the week-end. Mr and Mrs H. R. Domigan and their two children, returned .on Saturday evening from their holiday spent at Queenstown. . Mrs and Miss Conolly, of Christchurch, are the guests of Mr and Mrs J. G. Conolly, Willis street. Mrs S. B. Taylor and family, Ardwick street, returned on Saturday from a holiday spent at The Rocks, Riverton. Mr and Mrs R. Wallis, of Sydney, arrive in Gore this week and will be the guests of Mr and Mrs F. Wallis, Crewe street.

Mr and Mrs D. Durham, Melbourne, and formerly of Gore, accompanied by their daughter Davinia, arrive in Gore this week on an extended visit to Southland friends. They will be the guests of Mr and Mrs T. McMath, Riversdale, for the present. Mr and Mrs Christie, Dunedin, are in Gore at present. Mr Christie is relieving Mr R. Archibald at the Bank of New South Wales.

Miss Jean Finlayson, who was in Gore for the New Year holidays, returned to Dunedin on Friday last. Miss E. Alexander, Bluff, is spending the school vacation with her parents, Coutt’s Road. Mrs Freeby, Waikouaiti, is visiting her sister, Mrs W. Baker, Main street. Mr and Mrs H. F. North, Chatham Islands, who were the guests of Mrs Johnston, Redmond street, for the Christmas and New Year holidays, left last week for Port Chalmers to join the Tainui for England. Miss Beatrice Johnston, returned last week from Invercargill. Mrs F. Parsons, Joseph street, is spending a holiday in Dunedin. Miss Iris Sim, Nelson, and formerly of Gore, is spending a holiday visit here. Amongst those who motored to Wyndham on New Year’s Day for the races were Mr and Mrs F. Wallis, Mr and Mrs A. T. Gresham and family, William street, returned from Queenstown on Friday last. Miss Mary McKenzie, Hyde, was a visitor to Gore for the Croydon School jubilee celebrations.
