THE MONOWAI

CALL AT PORT CHALMERS. VESSEL EXPECTED ON TUESDAY. Carrying a large complement of passengers, the Union Company’s intercolonial liner Monowai left Melbourne on Thursday afternoon for the West Coast Sounds and Port Chalmers. The vessel, which is due at Port Chalmers at noon on Tuesday, will sail again at 6 p.m. on Wednesday for Wellington Sydney and Melbourne. A large number of the passengers are making the round trip, but several will disembark at Port Chalmers. The Monowai made an excursion trip to the West Coast Sounds last summer, when she carried almost a full complement of passengers, who greatly enjoyed the excursion. He is a member of the Scottish delegation party. Round trip:— Mr T. S. Nettleford, who is taking the round trip with his wife and daughter on holiday. Mr J. Spencer, ’ associate director of the Myer Emporium, Ltd. Mr A. Cooch, general manager of the State Savings Bank, Victoria.

For Milford Sound: — Mr B. Armstrong, a barrister and solicitor of Melbourne, accompanied by his sister (Miss D. Armstrong). Miss Lumsden, daughter of Mr D. Lumsden, secretary of the Mount Lyell Mining and Railway Company. Mr W. A. Gray, principal of the Presbyterian Ladies’ College, Melbourne, who is travelling with Mrs Gray on a holiday trip to the Dominion.
