M.P. MURDERED
SOUTH AFRICAN CRIME.

A message from Johannesburg states that the Rev. B. R. Hattingh, M.P. for Kurgerszorp and deputy chairman of committees in the Union Parliament, was murdered while driving a car near Langlaagre. His assailant was a fellow passenger, Saul Patz. a Lithuanian, who, while the car was stationary, went to the rear, drew a revolver and fired two shots, killing Mr Hattingh instantly. Patz afterwards committed suicide. The affair was witnessed by several persons. Tire motive is not explained.
