CONCLUDING DAY. CLOUDY RANGE CHIEF WINNER. A DRIVER DISQUALIFIED. (Per United Press Association.) Greymouth, January 5. The Greymouth Trotting Club’s meeting concluded in fine weather until after the fourth race when rain made the track heavy. There was a good attendance. The totalisator for the day handled £4760 (win) and £4225 10/- (place), a total of £8985 10/- against £9974 on the second day last year. The total for the meeting was £16,665 against £18,263, a decrease of £1598. Peter Parrish, winner of Westland Handicap returned a dividend of over a third of a century and Cloudy Range almost a quarter of a century. The results were:— WESTLAND HANDICAP, £lOO. Class 3.45. The order was the same the first time round. The second time Pronto Bingen led Waress, Wilbur White, Manoeuvre and Cloudy Range. The latter took charge going out of the straight in the final circuit and opened up a big gap to win easily by six lengths from Lord Leslie who was a length in front of Arabond, Manoeuvre two lengths back fourth. According to Mr Evan Hunter, the secretary of the Empire Games, Canda with 125 competitors will be the strongest represented. South Africa will have 30, Australia 16, New Zealand 10 and India 5.
