Notable examples of the popularity of the three-dividend system with the racing public were provided at Tuesday’s trotting meeting at Addington (says the Christchurch Times). In the fourth race there were only five chanon the totalisator, so that the rule providing for one dividend only in the case of five or fewer numbers being allotted on the totalisator came into application. In this race there was only one dividend and the amount invested was £1486, which was a small total compared with events in which the three dividend pool applied. . There were three dividends on the third and fifth races, for instance, and in those cases the amounts invested on the totalisator were £2879 and £2480 respectively.
