WESTPORT JUBILEE
CARNIVAL PROCEEDS. (Per United Press Association.) Westport, December 29. Westport’s Jubilee Carnival is proceeding apace. In fine weather conditions fire brigade demonstrations were held to-day, Westport winning five events and Denniston one. To-night a swimming carnival was held, witn ? large attendance and keen racing. The Sydenham team has arrived from Christchurch for the athletic carnival to-morrow, other features of the day being a dinner to the pioneers and a street procession, with dancing on the street in the evening. The Westport Municipal Band and a visiting Pipe Band from Blackball will supply the music.
