ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES
FARMER FOUND DEAD. (Per United Press Association.) Palmerston North, October 26. A fatality occurred at Oarangi near Feilding this afternoon. A well-known farmer Herbert Wallen Beatson was found dead, shot through the head, early in the afternoon. Beatson took a double-barrelled shotgun with the intention of destroying a dog. At about 4 p.m. he was found dead in a passageway between two sheds, the position of the body indicating that deceased had tripped over harrows, the gun discharging when he fell.
