OBITUARY
MRS R. W. FRASER. (Contributed.) There passed away at Invercargill recently following an attack of pneumonia Mrs Robert William Fraser, of Myross Bush, in her 64th year. She was born at Waimatuku, being the fourth daughter of the late Mr and Mrs W. A. Springford, very early arrivals in Southland. She was educated at the Middle School and later served her time as dressmaker with Herbert, Haynes and Co., Ltd., in Invercargill. The remains were taken to her late home where she was so much beloved and respected by all who knew her for her hospitality and willingness to assist in every movement for the benefit and the welfare of the district. The burial service at the house and graveside was performed by the Rev. Mr Thompson, of Kennington. The Myross Bush School children formed a guard of honour as the procession left the house for the Eastern Cemetery. The pall-bearers were those most nearly related to her with the exception of Mr A. Dawson, a close friend. A cortege of over 50 cars testified to the respect in which Mrs Fraser was held. She leaves a husband and one son, also brothers and sisters.
