SPORTS CLUB DANCE. (From Our Correspondent.) The Sports Club held a dance in the Hall on Monday night, excellent music being supplied by the Diggers Dance Band, an extra being supplied by Mr Kerr. Amongst those present were: Mr and Mrs Jas Young, Mcsdames Price, King, Kirk, Ogilvy, Knox, MacDonald (Wright’s Bush), Misses King (3), Whitelaw (2), Ronald (2), Price, Rizzi, Bisselt, Forrest, Robertson, Stevenson, Young, Wilson, Hunter, Powell, Gray (Wallacetown), Clode, Dobbie (Wright’s Bush), Tilson (Otahuti), Muir (2), Thomas, McKenzie (Invercargill), Hill (Taramoa), Smith (3), Waimatuku, Messrs King, Ronald (2), Robertson, Lindsay (3), Wilson, Kennedy, Price (2), Smithies, Grieve (3), Toole, Hunter (2), Adams, Steans, Bruland, McPhedran, Whitelaw, Dillon, Grieve, Donald, McDonald, Kerr (Otahuti), Clawson, Munro (Lochiel), Minney, Robbie, Jackson, McDonald (Wright’s Bush), McNeill (2) (Thornbury), Hill (Taramoa), Bye (Fairfax), Aitkinson, Bissett (Makarewa). Wilson (Ryal Bush), Jackson (Wallacetown). Mrs W. J. Steans has returned home after spending a few days in Invercargill. Mr and Mrs E. K. Steans spent Labour week-end as the guests of Mr and Mrs Les Blaikie (Branxholme). Mr and Mrs A. Quam returned north on Monday after spending a short holiday with Mr and Mrs Cartwright. Miss Jean King is spending a few days in Invercargill. Miss Powell spent the week-end at her home in Tapanui. A party of local fishermen headed by Mr W. J. Steans visited the Waiau River for Labour week-end and all secured good bags.
